Police Superintendents’ Association
The Police Superintendents’ Association, which represents senior operational leaders at the rank of superintendent and chief superintendent across 49 police forces, champions the benefits of valuing difference and inclusivity within its membership and throughout the police service. It works to bring about positive change in these areas, and has elected leads for each of the main protected characteristics within its National Executive Committee – its policy making body.
Through the association’s LGBT+ lead and through the president’s chairing of a regular ‘valuing difference’ forum for all national network groups, the association works to understand the challenges and issues facing all under represented colleagues, and to support progress in key areas.
The president remains a key contributor to forums including the NPCC Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Committee and was instrumental in setting up a coaching and mentoring programme for the service, training more than 1000 leaders in delivering tailored support to staff and officers from under-represented groups.
